Hi everyone! I am Althea joy brizuela a graduating SHS student from Humanities and Social Sciences of NEW CABALAN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL. In today’s blog, we are going to tackle why the incoming senior high school students must choose Humanities and Social Sciences strand or commonly knowm as HUMSS.
What is HUMSS? According to Webmaster, HUMSS is one of the academic strands offered to senior high school in the Philippines. This strand is for learners who aim to take up journalism, communication arts, liberal arts, education, and other social science-related courses in college, as it focuses on oral communication, media and information, and enhancing your reading and writing skills.
As for my own experience, I choose this strand because I think it will help me when I go college and another reason I feel I will in prove on this strand, and I believe that choosing this strand will help me in realizing my dream. At first, I was also hesitant due to different reasons. I was also doubtful with myself and capabilities whether I could make it or not. However, my firm determination have had help me to finally decide, and give it a try.
Now, that I am in this track, I am so happy, motivated and I’ve got no regrets because this track help me a lot to enhance not only my ability to talk in front of many people, but as well as to boost my self-confidence and ability to connect and communicate with others and the society. Also, it opens a great opportunity for me, to becoming a proficient and competent teacher in the future. On top of that I am also enjoying my journey in this strand,for I had have experience different exciting and challenging moments.
So, to everyone especially to all incoming SHS students, if you think that choosing HUMMS will help you in your college journey and in realizing your dream profession. Then take up your courage, be firm and be one of us!
